Confidence • Individuality • Enjoyment • Progress
Building confident, resilient learners
Supporting every child to believe ‘I can do this.’ Celebrating effort, progress and perseverance, creating an environment where children feel safe to make mistakes and learn from them.
Every child learns differently
Learning is never a one-size fits all. It’s important to get to know each child and adapt our sessions to their individual needs and strengths.
Learning should be something children enjoy
Learning is engaging, purposeful and fun. Through creativity, books, games and real-life experiences, the aim is to develop a genuine love of learning.
Small steps lead to big achievements
Focusing on meaningful progress rather than comparison; whether it’s learning a new sound in phonics, reading independently or mastering a new method in maths.

I make learning engaging, interactive, and tailored to each child’s individual needs. Whether in a small group or one-to-one, I focus on building confidence alongside academic skills. My teaching style is practical and often linked to the child’s interests, helping to keep the sessions both fun and effective. I aim to create a friendly, calm environment where children feel comfortable, making learning enjoyable and stress-free.

The session structure will depend on the age and needs of the child/ children. Most sessions will be a combination of warm-up activities, reviews of previous learning, collaborative tasks, independent practice, and games. Although the sessions are an hour, it’s important to recognise that this doesn’t mean an hour of formal learning sat at the table!
-
I assess each child’s progress both formally and informally, to ensure they are meeting their learning goals. Each week, I provide feedback and keep parents informed of what we have done during the sessions. Additionally, if I feel it’s needed, I’ll conduct short assessments as part of sessions to track progress, using this information to tailor future sessions and fill any learning gaps effectively.
